Hi, the NT Election result and the current political pressure around Tourist Visas should rule out an election in late 2024.
This makes our Canberra Conference ‘super’ important to achieve our objectives.
Below is a timely reminder to all Politicians that the Advice community has had enough of poor treatment from Canberra and we will be using our considerable political power to our advantage in the Marginal seats wherever necessary.

Subject: MARGINAL SEATSDear Parliamentarian, attached are the results of a survey conducted by the well – respected COREDATA Group in October 2023 to assess how much influence Financial Advisers have with their clients over money and political decisions.
The AIOFP commissioned the survey.
The most significant result is 89% of 790 consumers surveyed would vote against unfavourable Financial Servicers policy, something all sides of Politics are starting to realise. The other related issue is consumers listen to their favoured Financial Adviser with money/political matters, it is fundamental to the relationship.
Over the past 12 months around 15,000 Financial Advisers have made a concerted effort with their circa 2,000,000 clients to educate them on why they are paying for the cost of advice and who is to blame. Unfortunately, current Minister Stephen Jones has comprehensively failed, in fact the cost of advice and red tape has risen under his watch not reduced.
The Advice community and their clients are extremely frustrated with treatment from the Canberra stakeholders over the past 15 years and will be using its influence in marginal seats to its advantage leading into the next Federal Election.
We will present you with a list of demands that will lower the cost of advice for consumers in due course for your consideration.
