William Johns asks, “Is This What Dignity Looks Like in 2026?”

How does #ResolutionLife poor track record of having the highest rate of claims complaints and claims handling reflect on today’s Ascenda group?

Short answer: badly. Nothing has changed.

Get this (and picture yourself in this position). An executive CEO lost his job due to illness after a stroke that left him a very different man from who he was. Socially isolated, apart from his family, broke down his relationships, affected his cognition and speech.

Resolution Life’s response?

He can do something else despite 4 seperate medical practitioners saying he is cactus. Totally and Permanently Disabled since he left work. Finished.

Resolution Life sends me a procedural fairness to tell Us that prior to him losing his job there are some reports suggesting he can do something less onerous. That a desktop Transferable Skills Assessment shows he can do something, despite the face to face TSA we commissioned confirms what all his doctors said.

But here is the beauty: the procedural fairness had no questions; had already formed an opinion and a quick check revealed it was largely produced by AI. how do I know, because there are literally symbols mid words, changes between first person and third person mid sentence, and has been set to “combat” mode so it comes across as biased and partial.

Is this what dignity looks like in 2026? is this what we are going to expect from financial services going forward? total disregard for duty of utmost good faith? total dehumanisation?

Insurance is meant to be your best friend in the time of need.

But we are prepared to take it all the way and I am more than capable of fighting for what is right and just till the end of my time.
